Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Honey Do App ("HoneyDo", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users, including homeowners ("Clients") and service providers ("Providers").

2. About HoneyDo

HoneyDo is an online marketplace that connects homeowners with local, independent service providers for home maintenance and task-related services. HoneyDo is a platform only — we do not employ Providers, perform services, or guarantee the outcome of any work arranged through the platform.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use HoneyDo. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at info@honeydoapp.ca if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. HoneyDo is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

5. Provider Responsibilities

Providers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about their skills, qualifications, and experience.
  • Complete identity verification as required by HoneyDo.
  • Perform all services in a professional, safe, and workmanlike manner.
  • Hold any licenses, permits, or insurance required by applicable law for the services they offer.
  • Not engage in any fraudulent, unsafe, or unlawful conduct.

HoneyDo verifies identity only. Providers are listed in one of two tiers: Professional (a Provider self-identified as insured and credentialed, marked with a verified badge) and Freelancer (a local individual whose identity has been verified but who is not held to any insurance requirement). Only Providers displaying the Professional/verified badge are expected to carry insurance and applicable trade licences for the work they offer. Freelancers are not required to carry insurance or hold any licence unless one is mandated by law for the specific task, and HoneyDo does not verify that they do.

Assumption of risk. When a Client hires a Provider who is not a verified Professional (including any Freelancer or uninsured Provider), the Client does so at their own risk and assumes full responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury that results from the work performed. HoneyDo bears no liability for harm arising from the acts or omissions of an uninsured or unlicensed Provider.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate descriptions of the tasks and service location.
  • Ensure the service location is safe and accessible for the Provider.
  • Pay Providers promptly for completed work as agreed upon.
  • Treat Providers respectfully and professionally.

7. Payments & Platform Fee

All payments for services booked through HoneyDo are processed securely via Stripe. Providers must connect a valid Stripe account to receive payouts for completed work.

Platform fee. HoneyDo may in the future charge a service fee on completed bookings. During the current introductory period, no platform fee is charged — the client's full payment is transferred to the provider's connected Stripe account.

Any future platform fee will be calculated on the total invoice amount and automatically withheld from the client's payment before the remaining balance (the provider's payout) is deposited to the provider's connected Stripe account. The fee rate and any change to it will be posted on this page and take effect for bookings completed after the change is posted.

Providers are responsible for reporting and remitting any applicable taxes on their earnings. Payout timing is governed by the provider's own Stripe account settings and may vary based on the provider's bank and Stripe's processing schedule.

Refunds. HoneyDo does not collect, hold, or control the funds paid to Providers and is not responsible for issuing, guaranteeing, or processing refunds at any time — before, during, or after a service. Once a payment is transferred to a Provider's connected Stripe account, any refund, partial refund, or credit is the sole responsibility of the Provider. Clients must request any refund directly from the Provider. HoneyDo is not a party to the transaction, does not escrow funds, and will not act as an intermediary in refund or payment disputes. HoneyDo bears no liability whatsoever for a refund that a Provider fails, refuses, or is unable to issue.

8. Reviews & Ratings

Users may leave reviews for Providers after a completed and paid service. Reviews must be honest, accurate, and respectful. HoneyDo reserves the right to remove reviews that contain offensive language, false information, or violate these terms.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Use HoneyDo for any unlawful purpose.
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform by taking transactions off-platform to avoid accountability.
  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content without permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

HoneyDo provides the platform "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. HoneyDo makes no representations regarding the quality, safety, suitability, reliability, or legality of any services offered by Providers.

11. Limitation of Liability — Please Read Carefully

HoneyDo is a marketplace platform only. We are not a party to any service agreement between a Client and a Provider. All risk associated with arranging, performing, or receiving services rests solely with the users involved.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HoneyDo and its owners, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Financial losses — including disputes over payment, refunds (at any time, before or after a service), incomplete work, overcharging, fraud, theft, or any economic loss arising from a transaction between users.
  • Physical injury or property damage — including personal injury, death, or damage to real or personal property caused by a Provider's actions, negligence, or omissions during or related to a service.
  • Third-party conduct — HoneyDo does not employ Providers and is not responsible for their behaviour, competence, or compliance with applicable laws or regulations.
  • Indirect or consequential damages — including loss of income, loss of data, or any special, incidental, or punitive damages, even if HoneyDo has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Clients assume full responsibility for vetting Providers, verifying credentials and insurance, securing appropriate agreements, and ensuring the safety of their property and any persons present during service. Providers assume full responsibility for performing work safely, holding required licenses and insurance, and complying with all applicable laws. By using HoneyDo, you expressly agree that HoneyDo bears no liability whatsoever for financial or physical harm arising from any interaction facilitated through the platform.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HoneyDo and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any service performed or received through the platform; (d) any injury, damage, or loss caused to a third party by you or your agents; or (e) any dispute between you and another user.

13. Modifications to Terms

HoneyDo reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
